força disco, auction and raffle raises £6,000
Thank you to everyone who supported our silent disco, silent auction, raffle and cake sale - in total we raised £6,000.
Our Silent Disco took place at Lymington Town Sailing Club on Friday 28th April 2023. In the weeks leading up to the event, we launched a Silent Auction and Raffle, with a cake sale on Saturday 22nd April outside Moore Barlow in Lymington. Disco tickets and raffle tickets were available online as well as at the cake sale. The Silent Auction started on Facebook on Friday 21st April and concluded at the Silent Disco.
In total, the disco, cake sale, auction and raffle raised £6,000 - the equivalent of 95 Support bras PLUS 1,000 Nourish meals. Many thanks to everyone who supported our fundraisers - and to all the businesses who donated prizes.

Our Nourish project funds the provision of healthy, nutritious meals for people undergoing cancer treatment (and their families) at Lymington New Forest Hospital and for Day Centre users at Oakhaven Hospice. This practical support means that patients don't need to think about cooking or what to eat when they are having treatment.

We launched our Support project in 2019, funding and supplying supportive compression bras to women who have undergone a mastectomy at two local hospitals.

In addition, we provide practical help for individuals experiencing difficulties living with cancer, such as contributions to childcare costs, cleaning and items that ease living with cancer.
força - strength against cancer is a UK-registered charity that was founded in 2011 by a group of young women who were inspired after one of their friends was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Força means strength in Portuguese.
Our mission is to promote the physical and mental health of people living with or affected by cancer in Hampshire and Dorset through the provision of financial assistance, support, education and practical advice. Run by a team of volunteers, we're dedicated to raising funds to provide services for local people receiving cancer treatment, and to raising awareness of how lifestyle and diet can help and support those living with cancer.
